Your mission is simple: achieve pleasant and readable text by distributing the space between letters. Typographers call this activity kerning. Your solution will be compared to typographer’s solution, and you will be given a score depending on how close you nailed it. Good luck!

Adobe Announces iPad focused Publishing Platform

Wired magazines very popular iPad app was built using Adobe’s new publishing platform. Features include embedded video and slideshows, 360-degree interactive images, touch gesture support, and zooming modes.

“Adobe’s work with WIRED has resulted in a digital magazine format that creates an immersive experience, allowing a publication’s unique content, look and feel and advertising to stand out in the digital realm,” said David Burkett, vice president and general manager, Creative Solutions at Adobe. “We aim to make our digital viewer software available to all publishers soon and plan to deliver versions that work across multiple hardware platforms. It’s safe to say that if you are already working in InDesign CS5, you’ll be well on your way to producing a beautiful digital version of your publication.”

Clever business card

They’re for a Landscape gardening and maintenance company, Pople Landscapes and Shed Grounds Maintenance. The simple idea being when you read Pople you see a plant tag and when you flip it and read Shed you see… well, a shed.
